About AWF CWRC

Ascending Women of Faith (AWF) was founded in 2005 as a support network and resource center dedicated to empowering women, families, and communities to overcome social and economic challenges. Rooted in a commitment to social justice, AWF focuses on uplifting women of color by providing resources, fostering leadership, and promoting policy change. Our Women of Color Resource Center strengthens the leadership of women of color in social justice efforts. We mobilize and educate low-income women, enabling them to become impactful agents of change within their communities. By drawing attention to issues central to women of color—such as economic equity, political empowerment, and health access—we bring a feminist lens to the social justice movement, advocating for policies and practices that improve lives and address systemic inequities.

Our Mission
AWF is dedicated to enhancing the political, economic, social, and cultural well-being of women and girls of color across the United States. Our commitment is to build an inclusive, empowered community that transcends boundaries of race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, physical ability, and age.
